
Joseph “Joe” King, 65, passed away at 2:48 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2015, surrounded by loved ones and his beloved dog, Bella. He was born on March 11, 1950 in Kokomo, IN to Gifford and Lela King. He married the love of his life, Barbara, on June 19, 1971. Joe lived in Oklahoma for 25 years. While there, he worked at S&S, as a fork lift driver. As his health started deteriorating, he returned to Kokomo (his hometown) where he was an avid sports fan. He loved his Colts and Pacers.
Joe is survived by his step-sons, Bryon (Lisa) Yowell and Bart Yowell; sisters, Mary Tucker, Ruth Garity, Linda (Martin) Paul, and Jeanie (John) Turnpaugh; special nieces, Dana (Lane) Clinton, Kelly (Brian) Paul; and his dog, Bella. He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; sister, Anna Rider; and brother, Sonny King.
In keeping with Joe’s wishes, he was cremated and a private service will be held at a later date. Joe also had a passion for animals. Donations may be made in his honor to the Kokomo Humane Society, 713 N. Elizabeth Street, Kokomo, IN 46901.
